Environmentally Responsible

PolySteel UK is aware of the international lobby on the main environmental concerns. For instance global warming caused by the green-house effect, degradation of the ozone layer, acid rain and the depletion of natural resources, are changing the methods and criteria employed in selecting and using materials. The impact on the environment of a material is a crucial consideration when determining its future use.

PolySteel Insulating Concrete Forms are made from EPS (Expanded Polystyrene). The reasons for doing so are:

EPS is a good example of an efficient use of natural resources.
The manufacture and use of EPS does not generate any risk to health or to the environment.
EPS does not damage the ozone layer since it does not and never has contained CFCs (Chloro-fluorocarbons) or HCFCs (Hydrochloro-fluorocarbons) gases as the expansion agent is pentane.
The transformation process consumes little energy and does not generate waste.
EPS is 100% recyclable.
Conserves on timber.
Fungi and bacteria cannot grow on EPS, which assists in helping sufferers of allergies and asthma.
