SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS GROUP

Following a very enthusastic and informative meeting on 23rd October 2008, sharing ambitions and ideas on the way forward in the construction industry, the Sustainable Solutions Group (S.S.G) was formed and meets for the second time on Thursday 4th December 2008. 

The purpose of the group is to find solutions to meet the ever increasing demands initiated through the Building Regulations as well as legal or moral pressures to meet our environmental responsibilities, through the government initiative of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) scheme which encourages home owners and developers to improve the standards and quality of new housing.

Initiated by PolySteel UK, themselves a supplier of Insulating Concrete Formwork (ICF) an energy efficient modern method of construction, realised very quickly that providing an efficient, durable and sustainable system for the building envelope is only one part of what is needed to make a comfortable home which is affordable to build and maintain.  The Sustainable Solutions Group is formed from companies expert in their own field to give a joined up approach to enable homes to meet the required code more easily.
